Every wrestler has a unique finishing move, and fans know that a finishing move signals the end of a wrestling match. Some fans pop when a wrestler hits their finishing move. However, some wrestlers are blessed to have multiple finishers in their repertoire if one finisher is not enough to beat their adversary on the opposing side of the ring.
It's a smart move for wrestlers to have more than one finisher as some finishers are impact moves, and others add a submission move to their arsenal. It's useful for wrestlers to have a finisher that they can hit on any wrestler. Moreover, some of the best finishing combos in WWE history have seen wrestlers win major championships.
10 Natural Selection And Figure Eight (Charlotte Flair)
Charlotte Flair is arguably the greatest female wrestler in WWE history. The Queen won the WWE Women's Championship a record 14 times, and she can thank a couple of her finishers for many of her championship victories and big wins in her career.
Natural Selection is a solid finisher, and Figure Eight is Charlotte's submission finisher. Figure Eight is similar to her father Ric's Figure Four Leglock, but she bridges and leaves her opponents no choice but to tap out.
9 619 And Splash (Rey Mysterio)
WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio has had a fantastic career and he has won three WWE World Championships. The Ultimate Underdog's 619 is one of the most protected finishers in WWE history.
In Mysterio's younger years, he'd follow it up with the West Coast Pop or a hurricanrana. However, Mysterio's track record with injuries isn't great and he follows up the 619 with a splash. It's a good combination, and Mysterio finished off JBL in 21 seconds at WrestleMania 25 with the 619 and splash to win his first Intercontinental Championship and send him into retirement.
8 Spear And Jackhammer (Goldberg)
Goldberg had a long unbeaten run in WCW, and Goldberg joined WWE in 2003 on the Raw after WrestleMania 19. Goldberg was a Triple Crown Winner in WCW, and he had two devastating finishers.
A lot of wrestlers used the Spear and Goldberg's one was devastating. Goldberg's Spear sometimes would finish off matches, but the Jackhammer was another strong finisher where he would hoist his opponent in the air and drop them to the ground.
7 Twist Of Fate And Swanton Bomb (Jeff Hardy)
The Twist of Fate and Swanton Bomb combination was one of the best in WWE history. Both Jeff Hardy and his brother Matt would use the Twist of Fate. In tag team action, Matt would do the Twist of Fate and Jeff would follow up with a Swanton Bomb.
The combination worked superbly well as the Twist of Fate was a modified swinging neckbreaker where the opponent would fall to the ground, and the Charismatic Enigma would go on the top rope to seal the deal with the Swanton Bomb.
6 Superman Punch And Spear (Roman Reigns)
Roman Reigns is on a roll, and the Tribal Chief is the reigning Undisputed WWE Universal Champion, a championship he has held for three years and counting. Before Reigns uses the Spear, he sometimes puts his opponents down with the Superman Punch.
Reigns ensures that he's locked and loaded by punching the mat and he connects with a punch to his opponent. The Head of the Table's Spear has been enough to finish off many of his biggest rivals and Reigns can hit the Spear without warning to catch his opponents off-guard.
5 GTS And Anaconda Vise (CM Punk)
CM Punk's run with AEW came to an end in September 2023, and it remains to be seen if the Straight Edge Savior will return to WWE. Nevertheless, Punk had two strong finishers that he used and that was the Go To Sleep (GTS) and Anaconda Vise.
The GTS was similar to John Cena's AA and Brock Lesnar's F-5 as Punk would put his opponents' on his shoulders, but he'd connect his knee to their face when he'd plant them to the ground. Punk didn't stop there as he cinched in the Anaconda Vise which was a debilitating submission hold, and he beat Alberto Del Rio with that move at Survivor Series 2011 for the WWE Championship, which kickstarted his 434-day run as WWE Champion.
4 Chokeslam And Tombstone (Kane And The Undertaker)
Kane and The Undertaker are half-brothers and their skill sets are similar. The former three-time Tag Team Champions both used the Chokeslam and Tombstone Piledriver as their finishers.
The Big Red Machine used the Chokeslam as his finisher more than The Undertaker, and Undertaker used the Tombstone more than Kane. Nevertheless, the Chokeslam was the perfect set up for the Tombstone if the Chokeslam wasn't enough for Kane or Undertaker to keep their opponents down.
3 Rock Bottom And People's Elbow (The Rock)
10-time WWE World Champion The Rock is one of the all-time greats to grace a WWE ring. Rock can thank his two finishers the Rock Bottom and the People's Elbow for his success. He's beaten the likes of Triple H, and Kurt Angle among others for his World Championship reigns with those finishing maneuvers.
There's no doubt the Rock Bottom is more effective than the People's Elbow as Rock slams his opponent to the mat, and the People's Elbow doesn't look that strong, but Rock has still picked up major wins with the People's Elbow. Ultimately, fans popped when Rock executed the People's Elbow as he'd through his elbow pad into the crowd before he successfully connected with the move.
2 AA and STF (John Cena)
16-time WWE World Champion John Cena is one of the most polarizing stars in WWE history. Cena's Attitude Adjustment has proven to be his most successful finisher. Cena has showcased his strength with the AA as he has managed to execute the moves on the likes of Big Show and The Great Khali.
Cena won several World Championships with the AA, but in late 2005, Cena added the STF to his repertoire. Cena executes the AA as the set up if he doesn't decide to pin his opponent, and he goes on to cinch in the STF to finish off his adversaries.
1 Angle Slam And Angle Lock (Kurt Angle)
Kurt Angle is one of the best technical wrestlers in WWE history, and he's a submission specialist. Angle had a superb run in the Attitude Era and the Ruthless Aggression Era as he won four WWE Championships, the World Heavyweight Championship once, and the WCW World Heavyweight Championship.
Angle had two exceptional finishers when pulled off with the Angle Slam being his first finisher and he defeated The Rock at No Mercy 2000 for his first WWE Championship with the Angle Slam. Furthermore, the Angle Lock is arguably the better finisher as Angle would grab his opponent's ankle with force and he'd lie down on his back to apply more pressure on his opponent's ankle.
