Hugh Grant has been in several films, but one of his most memorable roles was starring as British prime minister David in the holiday classic Love Actually. While fans across the globe admired Grant in his role, especially his spot-on dance moves, the actor doesn't seem to be a member of the 'cult' for this cult classic.
During an interview with Digital Spy, when asked if Grant would participate in a full sequel to Love Actually, the actor confessed that he didn't remember the plot of his holiday film.
"I don't know," Grant said. "I've never thought about that ... I can't even remember what happens in the film."
However, his lack of memory shouldn't be interpreted as lack of enthusiasm; he then added, "It's so long since I've seen it. You'd have to remind me. How do I end up?"
To be fair, the movie did come out 18 years ago, and since then, Grant has gone on to star in numerous movies, including, Music and Lyrics, The Gentlemen, and Florence Foster Jenkins.
Not remembering the plot doesn't mean that he doesn't remember the filming process, however; Grant has talked about the movie several times, especially his iconic dance scene where he busts a move throughout 10 Downing Street.
In an interview in 2019, he said, "I thought, 'That's going to be excruciating, and it has the power to be the most excruciating scene ever committed to celluloid.' Imagine," he explained, "you're a grumpy 40-year-old Englishman, it's 7 o'clock in the morning and you're stone-cold sober... it was absolute hell."
When the director of the movie Richard Curtis opened up about Grant's issues with the dance portion, he shared, "A not nice memory is mainly Hugh and the dancing. He was hugely grumpy about it."
Whether or not Grant hated his dance number, fans loved every minute of it in the movie.
