Canadian voice actor Peter Cullen is best known for his voice work for characters like Eeyore in the Winnie-the-Pooh franchise, and Optimus Prime and Ironhide in the original 1980s Transformers animated series. Since then, he has been the voice of Optimus in all Transformers related media, including the live actions films. During the 2010 BotCon, Hasbro named him as one of the first four human inductees in the Transformers Hall of Fame for his role as the voice of Optimus Prime.

Peter Claver Cullen was born on July 28, 1944 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. He graduated in 1963, a member of the first graduating class from the National Theater School of Canada. His professional acting career began in 1968 when he appeared as Giles along with Joan Stuart as Penelope, in L’Anglaise, a CBC sitcom about a French-Canadian husband with an English-Canadian wife. He was also the French-Canadian astronaut Bebe LaToque for a 1969 children’s show on CFCF-TV in Montreal with Ted Zeigler. Between 1967 and 1969, he was the announcer for Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. In 1974, he was a series regular and the announcer on The Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle Show.

Cullen has been the voice behind several animated characters and has appeared in various television shows. His works included Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs, Voltron, Knight Rider, Dino-Riders, G.I. Joe, Sectaurs, Spider-Man cartoon, Megas XLR, The Pirates of Dark Water, Gremlins, The Greatest Adventure: Stories from the Bible series, Dungeons and Dragons, Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light.
