Where's Rico From 'Hannah Montana' Today?

August 2024 · 3 minute read

Throughout all four seasons of 'Hannah Montana,' the actor behind Rico added tons of laughs to the show. Sure, it was already funny, but Rico's antics (combined with on-screen Miley's brother Jackson — Jason Earles) were a highlight.

When the show ended, though, the actor who played Rico didn't seem to stick around in the spotlight as much as Miley did. He didn't have as much visibility as Emily Osment, who went on to lead a sitcom, either, and he didn't get his own Disney spinoff (like Mitchell Musso's 'Pair of Kings').

So what has Moisés Arias been up to since 'Hannah Montana'? As it turns out, quite a bit.

Now 26, Moisés hasn't left Hollywood in the years since his role as Rico ended. The role does seem to have led to other opportunities, though he clearly isn't enjoying superstar status like Miley.

However, a brief brush with the tabloids in 2014 probably didn't help things. Fans might remember that the Smith family came under investigation by child services when a photo emerged online of 14-year-old Willow on a bed with a shirtless Arias.

The Grio explained that later, in her 'Red Table Talk' series, Jada maintained that the Arias boys were very close friends of the family and "basically lived with" the Smiths. To the family, Moisés was like a brother to Willow, she said.

Fortunately for Arias, who was already 20 at the time, nothing seemed to come of the matter. And his career continued on an uptick; IMDb lists more than 40 acting credits for the young star.

After 'Hannah Montana,' the Colombian-American star acted in a series, voiced a character in 'Despicable Me 2' (he was that bratty Antonio kid who broke Margot's heart), and acted alongside Cole Sprouse in 'Five Feet Apart.' He was also in Pete Davidson's 'The King of Staten Island.'

Currently, Arias has at least three projects in post-production and one that has yet to be released but is finished. But he does more than just act, produce, and direct. Arias' Instagram is full of his photography work, and often, his subjects are friends like Jaden Smith, his brother Mateo, Justin Bieber, and even Kendall & Kylie Jenner.

He doesn't even seem to mind being known for playing Rico, which is largely where his fan base seems to come from. Having connections like Selena Gomez, Kourtney Kardashian, and other stars linked up on Instagram doesn't hurt, either.

His net worth may not be as impressive as some of his former 'Hannah Montana' co-stars, but Moisés' career path is clearly nothing to scoff at!
